The SABE Support Person will provide administrative, “behind the scenes” support to SABE Board members so that they may fully participate in SABE-related activities. This job is 20 hours per week and is located in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for SABE meeting logistics (arrange flights, hotel, per diem, agendas, meal planning as necessary). This includes but is not limited to: work with SABE president to set agenda in advance, work with hotel to coordinate all meeting spaces and board member hotel rooms; arrange accessible transportation if needed.
  • Co-manage SABE social media and SABE website
  • Set up online committee meetings throughout the year (scheduling meetings, working with committee chairs to set agendas in advance).
  • Respond to requests from board members and others related to SABE activities.
  • Coordination/management of updates and reporting on all grants associated with SABE; responsible for working with Board members to ensure timely reporting to funders.
  • Ensure that anything that goes out from SABE is in plain language
  • Conference planning
  • Maintain communication with SABE Advisors
  • Support coordination with local self-advocacy groups as needed

  • Basic computer skills (email, Zoom, etc)
  • Ability to relocate to Washington, DC

Once hired, the person that fills this position will have a 90-day probationary period and the Board president and Executive Committee will provide feedback on performance.
